Assalamualaikum,
Egh. I know posts haven't been coming in as much as I want it to be, but it's only because I'm too busy to sit down and think and write (I take a long time to write one measly post *sniff*). Besides, there hasn't been anything nice that's worthy of writing about lately. Gila takde life aku ni huwaaaaaa.

'The noob force is strong in this one.'
Assalamualaikum; hello.
Last Monday was a bad, bad time for me to meet Ami on Guild Wars 2 (busiest week yet). Hellos were said, (virtual) 'ermergerds' were shouted and lo and behold, I now have a Steam account and became friends with Mel as well. And the next thing you know I'm buying Skyrim. Nice people, seriously. They're even offering to help me improve my FPS skills! \o/ Also, Mel has been seriously urging me to move to Canada lol. Not gonna happen XD
Short post...I'm preoccupied with my draft right now :'(

Awkward Manglish
A: Wah congrats for getting that scholarship!
S: Not much leh; ya la I'm not bumiputera like you. Chinese people got a lot of smart people, want to get doctor scholarship also cannot get.
A: Ya, it's too bad wor...
Lol, 'too' here was meant as a "superlative" form of so but that...that was just awkward.
Conversation ended up fine though, don't worry! :P

"Apa akak ni dengar lagu band tak famous; dah la tak sedap wah wah wah"
I always feel that one of my greatest accomplishments in life is when I manage to impress my dad. He's a smart guy and people would look up to him at times (I mean he brags about his glorious office moments pfft) so naturally I would be so pleased with myself if I manage to get his 'approval', so to speak. In recent times though I am never able to impress him academically, although I do like to tell him about the things I do in uni just to sound professional-ish XD (Although I do believe he has once bragged about me going to ANU to one of his clients or someone) But seriously Ba, I personally don't know what's so awesome about this place according to you; for engineering at least, it's not even in the top 3 Aussie universities....but I am content nonetheless.
But more than education, the one moment I would triumphantly puff my chest up is when Baba approves of my music. And why's that? Because I'm in a (silly) one-sided competition with him that if I like his music, which I do but not all, then he should like mine as well. It doesn't help that the bands that I listen to are pretty much not-so-mainstream; a lot of them are names the general people have never heard of. The thing about my dad (and my brother for that matter) is that he NEVER says anything nice about the albums I buy.....until that time.
I figured as much that if he won't enjoy the lyrical music I listen to, he should at least like my choice of the instrumentals and 'epic' music (yes, epic is a genre only we epic lovers call them). We were in the car on the way to Kuantan when I heard the start of a familiar tune. ".....Zomg isn't that my Illusions CD? My dad actually added my CD to his 'long-distance' playlist wow!" And it is a big deal, because a long-distance playlist means the songs aren't just simply on air to pass the time like how radios work. It means that these songs actually help you on your journey. Lol. I guess it must've been all those times I blasted the CD through the speakers when I'm floor-cleaning. Anyway, on our way back to KL I had my cousin hitching a ride with us. Imagine my delight when he asked me about the composer and the name of the album :D Double score! Wooooo!
If my dad likes that CD, wait 'til he listens to a compilation of my personal favourites. Hehehe.

Spelling bees
Assalamualaikum :)
Hey whaddaya know, a new post every day! Not too shabby.....or so I hope this isn't just 'hot hot chicken shit' =/ Matlab lecture ended early today; as usual I was spacing out and didn't notice when the lecturer said that. I was like "Uhhh why is everyone standing up?.....OH. YAY."..because you know, nobody likes two-hour lectures.
Just got news that my cousin is repping her school for the Malaysian International Young Inventors Olympiad (wow is that long or what?) in UNIMAP. I'm so happy for her! During my time in KYS there weren't many occasions of entering these sorts of competitions...I think...I mean it's not like I can make the team but I did wonder why the school wasn't too involved in national scholastic tournaments. (Sometimes I hear it's because we're too good lol whut). Oh well that all changed after I left from what it seems, because every now and then I'll see the name KYS in the papers or the news (actually my mum sees them first since I don't read the newspaper sadly) showing pictures of my thrilled juniors holding up their inventions of sort. And most of the time we did pretty good :) So Mimi, good luck and all the best from me! Bangga Tok Ayah kalau dia hidup lagi hihi.

My cheat sheet looks pretty awesome.
Assalamualaikum :)
Right, so I just finished filling up my cheat sheet for my exam which hopefully starts in 2 hours and now I'm tired. Studying last-minute is obviously not the way to go but I dunno, it doesn't seem like an excuse to me anymore. I do think I can work (if not better) under pressure..although this is probably purely 'exam'-study and not the 'learning'-study...you get what I mean, no?
Anyhoo, rather than spend the last 2 hours dawdling away on YouTube (which I'm more than happy to do ffft) I thought I might use the time to write; get things settled for a bit and perhaps get some explanations in order.
I love Twitter. The whole microblog thing is awesome, really. A medium to tell the world your pointless mundane activities without annoying people too much (*cough* Facebook)? No wonder it's phenomenal. I, for one, love it to some point that S actually said this:
(By the way, I do not ordinarily say nor type 'kewwwww' in real life. )
But sometimes 160 characters are not enough. I've spent some moments pondering if I should write consecutive tweets (hence spamming your TLs) but in the end, I didn't bother. But the damn thing needs to be taken out of my head anyway!.....hence I finally decided to create Secret Little Places.
About that, it's usually not my 'naming convention' (it reminds me of giggling schoolgirls somehow) but I think this fits what I want the blog to be; somewhere I can blurb without lots of people reading...kinda like Twitter back in the days when I had about 10 followers and I didn't have to worry about potentially offending people (of course unintentional but people are so sensitive these days :/ ) I had the hardest time picking out a blog address too. Got so frustrated I almost used whatever that was in front of me as a name. Yes, this was *almost* canoftuna.blogspot.com(.au? Whut.) J suggested I Google song lyrics but all the nice phrases were taken :( So I searched my brain a little further and came up with frenzystreak. Whatever works hehe.
So that's that. God, that was quite a lot off my chest. I do have another topic I've been saving since I decided not to put it on Twitter coming up, though. Can't wait!

P.S. If by some chance someone reads this right after I post this, pray that I do well for exams! (And that Malaysia ends up in good hands >.>)
